Tailwheel Conversion & Farmstrip Course
The North London Flying School offers tailwheel flying (conventional gear) lessons. This is more of a challenge than flying a tricycle gear airplane because the geometry of a tailwheel aircraft's landing gear is not as stable as a nose wheel plane.

To you it will mean the unmatched pleasure of an unhurried summer afternoon, cruising with an open window over the countryside.
The course will, in fact, really expand your horizons as a pilot. Your hands and legs would work in co-ordination in the aerial dance of flying this beautiful yellow cub.  Poetry in motion!

If you learn the art of Tailwheel flying first, then nose wheel aeroplanes will come naturally because it is more difficult at first. Learning Tailwheel flying first will make you a better pilot because it is less forgiving and you therefore need to be more in tune with your aircraft.

What the Tailwheel Flight Training involves.
There is no minimum training requirement however complete knowledge of all flight manoeuvres, special techniques for tail wheel take-off and landings and the unique methods of ground handling is a must

Cost: £150 per hour dual includes: hire of aeroplane, instruction charges, VAT, landing fees and pre & post-flight briefings.
